Rockstar Games, oyun geliştirme şirketi. recently made some big changes in their UK and Canada offices. They let go around 30 to 40 employees. This has caused a huge debate in the gaming world.
A special union, called IWGB (Independent Workers Union of Great Britain), is very upset about this. They say that all the people who were let go are part of a special group on Discord, and most of them are either already members of a union or trying to become one. IWGB calls Rockstar’s actions “anti-union”.
The head of IWGB, Alex Marshall, says: “Rockstar has committed the most blatant and brutal anti-union action in the history of the gaming industry.” He thinks it’s very unfair and will hurt not just Rockstar but also all gamers.
But Rockstar says that they had to let go these employees because one group of people was being really mean to each other. They say there’s no other reason for this.
This big change happened just 7 months before the release of their new game, Grand Theft Auto VI. The game is supposed to be very good, but now some people are worried that it might not be ready on time.
